The Antonio Vivaldi Orchestra was established in December 2011 from an idea of Lorenzo Passerini, conductor, and Piergiorgio Ratti, composer. In a short time it became a stable reality in the Italian music scene, boasting collaborations with the major concert seasons, festivals and institutions of the country.

Its members are selected from the most promising young musicians on the European context with active experience in the most important orchestras in the world such as the London Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra of the National Academy of Santa Cecilia, the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Teatro Alla Scala, all united by the desire to give life to a young and new artistic reality.

The Vivaldi Orchestra has more than two hundred symphonic concerts to its credit, held in the major concert halls and theaters of the country including the Sala Verdi of the Milan Conservatory, the Scuola Grande di San Rocco in Venice, the Bibiena Theater in Mantua, the Social Theater of Como, the Municipal of Vicenza and the Verona Philharmonic.

TIn 2014, the sold-out tour in Spain marked the Orchestra's debut on the European stage. Other international experiences are continuing in Switzerland, Luxembourg and Cina.

In 2015, just 4 years after its establishment, Orchestra Vivaldi became the resident of "Serate Musicali" concert season in Milan, thus earning a prominent role in a programme shared by the greatest artists of the international scene. In the same year, the Orchestra also inaugurated the newborn Teatro Sociale in Sondrio with the performance of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, receiving significant critical and audience acclaim. Since the 2016/2017 season, the Orchestra has become orchestra in residence at the same theater.

Orchestra Vivaldi's repertoire goes so far as to embrace the contemporary music, through ongoing collaborations with some of the most important composers of the national scene such as Silvia Colasanti, Fabio Vacchi, Giorgio Battistelli, Piergiorgio Ratti, Antonio Eros Negri, Andrea Portera.

The Orchestra also boasts collaborations with world-famous conductors and soloists.

The very young artistic direction is composed of Lorenzo Passerini (musical director) and Ernesto Colombo (production director).

The activity of the Vivaldi Orchestra is supported by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism and by the Lombardy Region.
